About Tim:

Tim was raised in Dallas, Tx, and graduated from Rice University in Houston with a BSEE and MEE in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in computer science. Tim was recruited after college by Burroughs Corporation’s Santa Barbara office. Tim married his college sweetheart, Karen Kegg, a year after moving to Santa Barbara. Six years later, Tim changed careers after the PC reshaped the computer industry and the Santa Barbara plant was consolidated with another near San Diego. 

By this time, Karen had opened her own chocolate confectionery store, carrying on her family tradition. Her father had been in the chocolate business in Houston since the 1940’s. Tim switched careers, and opened a second chocolate store. After six years and three wonderful children, they closed one store in order to have more time for raising the family. Tim and Karen shared running the business until 2004 when Tim earned his real estate license. Tim is still the handyman and IT person for Karen’s Chocolate Gallery and the go-to-person whenever she needs some extra help. Tim and Karen are proud to be able to say that The Chocolate Gallery is in its 38th year of business and still going strong.

Making chocolates and selling real estate may not seem to have much in common, but for Tim, the same ingenuity and attention to detail that sparked The Chocolate Gallery’s success are also at the root of his real estate service. Since 2004, Tim has earned his place among Santa Barbara’s premier real estate professionals. He takes great pride in his reputation for providing genuinely caring advice and insight to his clients. In fact, he views his clients as more than just another transaction. He takes an investment in their future and has been known to even advise against a deal if he feels it’s not in their best long-term interests.

As a Santa Barbara resident for over 40 years, Tim has a sound knowledge of the neighborhoods, the schools, the local businesses, and the area’s amenities. All this comes into play when helping buyers and sellers before and after a transaction.
