Santa Barbara Area Featured Communities

Tim Johnson’s Santa Barbara area featured communities resource.

Santa Barbara, CA

Santa Barbara is the county seat of Santa Barbara County, California. The city is located between the Santa Ynez Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. It’s climate is “Mediterranean,” which has led to its nickname of “The American Riviera.” U.S. Highway 101 connects the Santa Barbara area with the city of Los Angeles (south) and San Francisco (north). Residents and visiting tourists alike take advantage of the Los Padres National Forest, which contains several remote wilderness areas, and is located behind the city itself and in the Santa Ynez mountain range.

In addition to being a sought-after tourist spot and resort destination, the city economy includes a large service sector, education, technology, health care, finance, agriculture, manufacturing, and local government.

Education is important in this region, and is a large employer. There are five institutions of higher learning in the area: the University of California, Santa Barbara; Santa Barbara City College; Antioch University; Westmont College; The Brooks Institute of Photography.

The temperate climate, spectacular scenery and topography and its world class amenities make this a very desirable place to call home. This makes the Santa Barbara real estate market complex. Tim Johnson can help you sell our Santa Barbara home or help you find the perfect Santa Barbara home for sale.

An unincorporated community of Santa Barbara, Montecito is a very desirable enclave. Many celebrities and successful business people including Oprah Winfrey and Rob Lowe own Montecito estates. It features some of the most spectacular real estate in the United States, with many homes affording incredible views and vistas of the Pacific Ocean. This community is consistently ranked as one of the wealthiest in the US by Forbes Magazine.

Montecito is located on the eastern portion of the coastal plain south of the Santa Ynez Mountain range. Sections of the community are built on the lower foothills. Some areas of Montecito, though commonly referred to as part of Montecito, are actually part of Santa Barbara proper.

Needless to say, Montecito real estate demands a highly skilled real estate professional to help you navigate your Montecito home sale or purchase. Tim Johnson has the expertise you need if you are looking to buy or sell Montecito properties.

The city of Carpinteria is located east of Santa Barbara and northwest of Ventura, CA. This small oceanside city had a population of 13,040 at the 2010 census. The city has a total area of 9.2 square miles. Carpinteria is known for its beautiful beaches with good surfing swells in some of the more rocky areas, with an abundance of wildlife and tidepools, all framed by spectacular scenery at every turn.

In Autumn, the California Avocado Festival is held in Carpinteria, during the first weekend in October. Over 80,000 people attend this festival. Also, the Santa Barbara Polo Club, one of the main equestrian polo fields in the entire US, is located in Carpinteria. The recreational opportunities in and around this community are numerous and abundant.

The city of Carpinteria features the Carpinteria Unified School District. It includes one high school, one middle (junior high) school, and three public elementary schools. The area also features the Pacifica Graduate Institute, home of the Joseph Campbell and Marija Gimbutas Library.

Carpinteria is a laid-back enclave, but its real estate market is dynamic. Tim Johnson can help you with all your Carpinteria real estate needs and questions. If you are looking for a Carpinteria home for sale, or needing to sell your Carpinteria home, call Tim for his respected expertise in this community’s real estate market.
